Green Smothie

Here is a recipe for the breakfast drink that Dr. Oz swears by. This green smoothie is high in fiber, low-calorie and rich in vitamins and minerals. Experiment with a variety of leafy greens such as kale and chard in place of the spinach – just remember to remove the tough ribs from the middle of the leaves.


Makes 3-4 servings (about 28-30 oz)

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 ribs of celery
  • 1/2 bunch parsley
  • 1 bunch mint
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 apples or pears
  • 1/4 orange, peeled
  • 1/4 lime, peeled
  • 1/4 lemon, peeled
  • 1/4 pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup ice

Thoroughly wash all produce. Combine all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
